The Release Notes included with Trustwave SPE 4.0 are accurate as of the date of publication.

  • Build 4.0.3.20390 was published on February 12, 2019.
  • This article provides any additional information generated after that date.

Known Issues

Security vulnerability: The Telerik web controls used in the Customer Console have a known security vulnerability. For more information see the related link below from Telerik.
  • Trustwave strongly recommends that customers upgrade to MailMarshal SPE 4.3. In version 4.3, Customer Console functions are available in the Management Interface. This interface does not use the problem DLL.

Upgrade Notes

  • When the SPE Database Wizard runs as part of upgrade of the SPE Web Console server or MIA server, TextCensor upgrade may fail with a blank error dialog. The following error is logged (in the SPEDBWizard log file): Could not load file or assembly 'TextCensor2.NET.dll' or one of its dependencies.
  • The SQM login page has been updated to support SAML authentication. If you use a custom theme for SQM you must update the theme.
  • Minor additions have been made to the Customer Console theme to support new features. If you use a custom theme for the Customer Console, you should review changes in the theme.

Service Account Permissions

SPE services use the REST API provided by SEG. If the services are running as a custom account that is not in the Local Administrators group, you must give this account the "log on as a batch job" permission.

Trustwave SEG Support

  • SEG 8.0.7 (8.0.7.11235, released June 14, 2018) is the minimum supported version for use with SPE 4.0.3.
  • For details of the SEG version allowed with each SPE release, see article Q20963.

Internet Explorer Settings

  • With IE 11 on some releases of Windows 10, some buttons in the Admin Console may not function correctly. If you encounter this issue, add the Admin Console to the Trusted Sites zone.
